Adult Programs
Adult learning will consist of two seperate programs. The first program will focus on safety on the trail and while camping, while the second will focus on living with wildlife in an urban context.
Trail/Camping Focus
Program will look at identification of species, habitat and bear behaviour. This will provide a context and better understanding of safety precautions to be discussed in the second half of the program. Program focuses primarily on bears but can be adapted to include cougars.
Urban Living Focus
The abundant green spaces that weave through B.C's cities and towns presents both unique opportunities and unique challenges. With this in mind, this program will focus on attractant management, and steps that can be taken in your backyard and in your community to improve life yourself and your furry neighbours by minimizing conflicts and limiting habituation. This program will discuss not only bears and cougars, but prey species such as deer which can cause problems of their own.
